Pros

- Company is at positive cash flow - Market leader position - HQ Marketing has lots of open minded people although they've been with Smartsheet a long time. - Lots of greenfields to test: the company is surprisingly very immature the way they operate.

Cons

- Poor leadership, full of political agenda: I was a victim of the political power play between HQ and APAC. - Competing culture with overlapping roles and responsibilities: You're set to fail unless you're in favour of the leadership. - Toxic culture in APAC: it's clear who's running the show. The bullies are rewarded for their behaviour, the rest are loosing their jobs. The local HR is there for the upper management. - They don't eat their own dogfood - local marketing lead uses Asana to plan her projects. - To be honest, Asana is a much better product and workplace than Smartsheet.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re proud of the leadership position we hold in our market and the incredible people who got us here – I’m glad to hear this had a positive impact on your experience. We absolutely love our product, and all organizations across Smartsheet use it to move the needle every single day. We know that our success is dependent on more than just a great product, but on the trust we build between employees and leaders across all our international teams. My goal is to create a culture of belonging in the Marketing org with a specific focus on collaboration, innovation and trust. I’m disappointed to hear this wasn’t your experience and I’d like to learn more. I encourage you to reach out to people@smartsheet.com to share more details. Thank you for your time at Smartsheet and again for your feedback. – Andrew Bennett, Chief Marketing Officer

Pros

- Product provides great solutions for businesses - Abundance of resources, great logos on board with great case studies for support - Great employee benefits - Nice team culture

Cons

- Product is complex and takes at least 12 months to get your head around everything. The abundance of resources can sometimes be overwhelming without proper guidance on what is a "need to know" vs. a "nice to know". - Aggressive sales targets with average quota attainment(check Repvue website for the most updated data. As of July 2023, Repvue is reporting 48% quota attainment). As a result, there's a big push on increasing sales performance which can be very stressful and tolling on your mental health - Being someone who's worked both within the New Business team and the Expansion team, avoid new business as it is much harder to generate revenue. Expansion is an easier sell and more enjoyable. - Management can be out of touch. You need to know how to manage upwards.
