Pros

Peers are good to work with but thats the only positive I have

Cons

- High workload to the point shortcuts / rushing is causing incidents. - Not replacing people when they leave adding to workload - People are leaving for smaller operators for much better pay and less workload, and they are happy - Management cut bonus more than 50% on back of record profits, bet management don’t take a hit - No appreciation for the workers, senior management continue to get their multi million salaries - No flexibility / work life balance, management stuck in stone ages - Inflexible pay bands, many have received lass that 2% total pay increase in last 9 years. Not even close to this years cpi alone. - Senior Management don’t care that people are unhappy, my way or highway attitude. - Limited career progression because they expect managers in lower positions but don’t want to call you manager because they would have to pay more.

Pros

Money (particularly if you are male) There were some great technical people, were... however if you don't like thinking, enjoy doing what you are told and can turn a blind eye to your morals then this is the place for you. Good maternity leave (and now better paternity leave) but being a female also means you clearly weren't born intellectually capable and you will progress at half the speed of your male peers.

Cons

Bullying culture from the top down. Do what you are told or they will find someone that will. They seem to believe their own stories, resembles little of what happens on the ground... but then only good news is allowed. You can no longer question anything, the science, the project or the prospect. Questioning or looking for discussion means you are 'not on the bus'. You can look forward to a public shout down. Technical review of projects became synonymous with roadblocks and were no longer considered necessary. Sexist toxic masculinity, the patriarchy at its best. Constant redundancies... you will never feel, or be, secure. If you make 12months without a restructure that would be a record. Have a think about the difference between emirates and tiger air.... Santos was like emirates and is now 'the lowest cost onshore operator'. Quality = time x money. There are now fewer staff doing more work with less experience and less money. The only leadership is cost. Don't think you will see any other kind. You will not be a person, just a number.

Pros

Good individuals spread through business that haven’t quit yet. Opportunities to learn like never before as there is no choice it is a sink or swim environment- a con of this pro is that Jr inexperienced employees are making decisions well beyond their abilities

Cons

Leadership in Bne from ops Production manager to Team Leaders lack any integrity and are purely focused on climbing the ladder, senior leadership clearly has no idea of the level of incompetence of these leaders or complete lack of engagement from the ‘wood choppers’ or they wouldn’t have requested everyone do this survey. The junior inexperienced leadership have managed to push 20+ employees to unionise as they do not trust the management team at all. Advice for any potential applicants is have everything documented in your contract which the company will disregard but at least you will have it for Fairwork The company values are purely aspirational for leadership , they have destroyed the culture
