Pros

- Employee discounts off Optus products eg NBN and mobile - great training and induction program for new staff - got to work some wonderful managers over the years who coached me constructively

Cons

- very Sydney centric company as head office is in Sydney. Most of the promotional opportunities are in Sydney. - it can be very political organization as you progress higher up in the business. - it is very KPI driven, while that was OK for me - many other staff find it overwhelming balancing the different requirements the business puts on them. - for customer facing staff it can be intensely stressful as many customers can be abusive. Optus is slowly bringing in policies to protect staff against customer aggression but it is taking a lot of time. - Since approximately 2016 I feel the company has been in decline. This is a combination of factors including the telecommunications industry becoming more stagnant with less growth, the EPL Optus Sport fail, NBN issues, declining mobile network performance and the biggest fail occurred in 2022 with the privacy breach.
