Pros

Great attention to detail on geological models

Cons

Day 1) Co-worker puts hand on my arm and tells me she's never had s** in a bogger bucket. I'm on my first Day I just wanted to fit in and learn the role. Day 2) My immediate supervisor jumps in the car with me and says "I don't like you" "You mean my resume?" I asked. "No, I mean you as a person" Me (completely perplexed!) "Do you mean where I studied?" Her "NO, I mean you as a person - I don't like you". Me - " Bit of an early call don't you think?" I call it how I see it she replies. She then consistently complained about me just out of earshot to the senior on site about my posture, my demeanour, about me not listening to her, most awkward work environment I've ever had the opportunity to witness. I never managed to figure out what drove this geologist to be so confrontational. Our relationship never improved. It was rough. I think this is all able to happen under bad management. So that's my final answer, bad management, lock it in.

Pros

Pay seems good for gold People are great Seem to promote from within Offer jobs internally first

Cons

Managers are abusive Managers are not trained in management They are pushing equipment to their limits without servicing or replacing Will end up costing more in repairs, replacement and down time long term. Trying to make the merger not look as bad at the risk of long term viability. Perth doesn't support sites. Perth doesn't understand that sites are 24/7/365 If your on site, your on call They don't properly address fatigue management on site They don't limit alcohol on site so people are loud due in camp quiet times Not properly addressing bad behaviour (sexism, lack of responsibility of managers)

Pros

Fast growing. Job security. Good people on site.

Cons

No flexibility with fifo. No consistency with who gets it. Culture is poor in spite of the surface level messages they are now attempting. Mostly comes from the top. CEO that doesn’t know how to lead who surrounds themselves by people who lead the same way.
