People can be moved around from team to team quite regularly as projects are in fire fighting mode a lot of the time due to under resourcing. I know others in the company aren't happy and I think a lot of that comes down to the immediate team around you and the individuals who are providing management support. They promote training and self development but I never have time to do this. Lots of engineers who are dead wood and clearly aren't up to the job and hide in the teams where their colleagues have to carry them.

It helps if you are into the distribution centers, enthusiastic about conveyors and boxes that go round and round. The sw that you do will help control those things. Some internal processes seem unnecessarily complex.
