Barry.Nilsson. was formed in 1963 as John Barry & Co, by John Barry, with John Nilsson and David Barry also joining as partners in 1971. The name of the firm was changed to Barry & Nilsson in 1975 and then updated to Barry.Nilsson. in 2010.
The development of Barry.Nilsson. has been marked by strong growth with an unchanging commitment to the provision of high quality service in order to achieve the best results for our valued clients. For the first 50 years of its history, Barry.Nilsson. was solely a Brisbane based firm. Expansion initially commenced on the east coast, with the Sydney office opening in 2014 and Melbourne following in 2015. Adelaide and Hobart opened in 2016 and our national expansion was completed with the opening of our Perth office in 2017.
Barry.Nilsson. is currently a firm of more than 30 principals, practising in two (2) main areas of law:
• insurance & health; and
• family law and wills & estates.
