      Ticking boxes for Mental health does not mean a happy work environment

      Pros

      - Lots of training available - Lots of really nice people work there - Sense of working for a company that is doing the right thing

      Cons

      - HR and senior management not interested in addressing/investigating bullying issues - Lack consistency across sites in roles and requirements of workers - Frustrating and overly complicated systems - Australian construction still requires NZ to assist in procurement of items and procurement departments are never on the same page as construction as to when things are required. - Lack of work life balance and lack of interest from senior management to improve conditions. - Preach caring about peoples mental health but when it comes down to it Senior management/HR showed on numerous occasions that they didn't care. (would put issues in the too hard basket) - HR assisting people accused of bullying in getting rid of victim

      Pros

      Some areas/departments of the business are nice to work with, and there is a level of care and quality in what they offer in the retirement sector

      Cons

      Some top managers are toxic social climbers, especially those ones that deal with money - and they treat employees as commodity. I heard that things got worse since the new Australia CEO was appointed. If you have strong ethics and don’t want your professional integrity raped, stay away from this company! I left after just over a year, as soon as I realised how sick and soft top management was.

      Meaningful work with residents, but poor management issues

      Pros

      The residents are great and you always find a sense of purpose when you bring a smile to their face.

      Cons

      Absolutely zero leadership and management. Plenty of favouritism and 'not taking sides, so just sort yourselves out' behavior when you try and address a staff issue. Management will pull you up on small non issues instead of focusing on the bigger picture like other staff members who are there to gasbag their immediate supervisor.
