Supportive Workplace with Strong Team Culture – Challenging End Due to Executive-Level Decisions
Pros
Working at Ryman Construction was a genuinely positive experience. The team culture was collaborative and supportive, with colleagues always willing to help. The company offered solid benefits, good work-life balance, and flexibility, which made it a great environment to grow professionally. They gave affected staff six months' notice, provided access to mental health support through a dedicated counsellor, assigned a recruiter to help with job placement, and even paid above the standard redundancy entitlements. These actions reflected the company’s respect for its employees and helped ease the difficult transition. Despite the challenges at the top, Ryman had a great team and culture at the ground level, and I’m grateful for the time I spent there.
Cons
Unfortunately, due to poor financial management at the executive level, the construction arm of the business was shut down, resulting in redundancies across the construction staff. While the closure was disappointing, Ryman handled the transition with a high degree of care and responsibility.
