Pros

Work life balance with the wfh but the resourcing issues make it almost pointless

Cons

No career development Overworked with government red tape, promotions based on favouritism with the delegates at the time Lots of really skilled workers overlooked because they aren’t chummy enough with the office cliques Some creepy older colleagues that harass younger staff are normalised behaviour

Pros

Good pay Good incentives Leave entitlements Flexible work arrangements

Cons

Lack of career development Limited options for movement Some centres have horrible team leaders and managers with limited experience Favouritism at some of the centres is out of hand Due to a lack of roles above CSO, only favourites get chosen to progress You'll need to stay late, sometimes to midnight, if a placement can't be found for a child that's been removed but your team leader won't stay during that time. Supervision is sporatic even though the Regional Director has stated it must happen - good luck with that.

Pros

Changing the lives of young people that have experienced trauma, safe guarding vulnerable children, working with community organisations and external agencies, pay, superannuation contributions, good training

Cons

Change of management can be detrimental to service delivery, all CSO's are overworked and my office basically ran off the good will and donation of people's time, work-life balance is non-existent as you have to take work home to keep on top of case notes, case loads are excessive.
