Pros

People (non-managers) are great to work with. Great pay and bonus.

Cons

Bullying is common place. Upper management turns a blind eye on it and in fact, promotes bullies to management levels. Lots of pre-meetings and prep-meetings for meetings. Great place to work if you want to play political games rather than being good at your job or to learn new job skills. Strategic direction is consistently changing due to the business being so tightly led by the government. It's like a political party trying to run a commercial business, makes no sense except to "meet goals" to be re-elected or to avoid bad PR.

Pros

If you would like to get paid good for doing very minimal this place is for you. So yeah Good pay is pro but that is changing as well as they will soon run out of money.

Cons

No talent hiring. Manger hiring people they know only. Manager and Lead flying interstate and internationally every second month for doing nothing and wasting tax payers money. Bullied work environment, there are groups in the company so if you are not in the good terms with them , you will be going out soon or have to put up with their bullish behaviour. No career progression No real KPI No real training. No real work life balance, you frown upon if you work from home. Job descriptions advertised are misleading.

Pros

Pay above market rate to attract people Lots of great people with good skills Work from home flexibility

Cons

Insecure, self-centred managers with minimum leadership skills who only care about the security of their jobs. Months go by with endless meetings held by managers, achieving no outcomes or providing any direction to their teams. There is a restructure every 3-6 months to clear out people that have questioned decisions made by executives or raised concerns. Being a high performer and delivering outcomes doesn't mean anything unless you spend 90% of your time praising your managers and executives. HR supports managers regardless of them being repeat bullies and refers employees to EAP services. EAP services are helpful, but EAP can't change the toxic work environment or the behaviour of the bullying egoistic managers that the employee has to report into. There are so many opportunities to improve what nbn does, but toxic culture is pushing out the high performers.
