Pros

It was a big, spread out company. My experience was bad however I know many of the other offices in regions and other capital cities had fantastic cultural environments.

Cons

My few months at Findex were pretty miserable. I started as a graduate and with a completely unmanageable workload, received little in the way of development opportunities. The culture was poor and very cliquey. There was minimal interaction in my own dept - I genuinely don't know what some of the people in my team actually did, who sat two metres away from me. I don't recall any perks and benefits so there was little incentive to stay. It was ironic seeing Crowe Horwath USA introduce initiatives like casual dress and flexible work that Findex actually rolled back like cutting casual Friday's. It very much felt like a facade. On the outside Findex talk about how revolutionary they think they in the way of culture and technology. The reality internally is that you'll be working with antiquated technology and as above, in a poor culture all about slapping a few buzzwords on a wall and pretending they're lived up to. As my first full time job out of uni, Findex wasn't a great introduction to the workforce. Leaving was the best career decision I've made.

Cons

Hierarchical leadership team Huge logistical discrepancy between top floor (upper management) and lower floor in Melbourne office Impractical and slow processes Retention rate is very low Promoting and hiring the wrong people

Pros

I feel that the best thing about Findex is that its very meritocratic and you will be recognised and promoted for your talent and hard work. The senior leadership team has implemented a culture from the top down so that this happens, and they've been very effective in doing so. Specifically, Spiro Paule, cofounderand visionary CEO, with the company for decades - what more do you need to say? Thomas Paule, chief digital officer making significant technological improvements with the company. Zoe Paule, head of marketing, implementing a sweeping rebrand and marketing campaign.

Cons

My last name is not Paule.
