Pros

Some interesting work. Good place to pick up credit analysis knowledge. Better hours than banks.

Cons

Stagnant, overly political and bureaucratic culture. Does not foster nor encourage innovation. Meritocracy does not exist on any level, whatsoever. Favourtism is also very evident in certain teams. Some managers lack consistency in their standards as well as their professional demeanor. Poor facilities, old computers, terrible lighting, chairs that will guarantee you back problems. A lot of old timers with a fragile ego. The culture is not very friendly to ambitious juniors. Way too many useless meetings. Juniors are expected to drink the koolaid (eat up the propaganda).

Pros

Benefits were nice, pay was acceptable

Cons

Good luck using unlimited PTO or taking paternal leave, this company is bleeding talent from self inflicted wounds and replacing it as quick as possible with folks in India or APAC. I at this company for years and only encountered 1 leader with a spine that cared about people. S&P immediately cut DEI after trump was elected and relabeled everything to “people first” but it’s hard to see where the people are first in any category. CEO is out of touch along with most leaders once they hit director level. This company is another example of using AI to replace people and the product is sloppy. Once something is “automated” they fire at least 25% of the team. I would encourage you to stay job hunting even if you accept a role at this company, never forget you are a number at S&P.
