Pros

OK pay, good superannuation if you joined a long time ago, free uniform, free transfers.

Cons

Where to start. 2 x restructures in last 5 years that have reduced output, lack of communication, no innovation, the commissioner has surrounded himself with 'his' people or Captains picks. A lot of corruption starting to creep in internally, evidence of this in amount of Captains picks that are currently stood down. No direction at all in the QPS. The central functions love it as they don't have to do any work. Regional workers (front line) are struggling. Lack of resources, lack of staff, lack of direction, bad management, front line staff expected to relieve non-critical roles when it should be the other way. You will not have any opportunity unless you stay in Brisbane or close to a regional office. A lot of Police roles were removed in last restructure and the result is as expected. No one knows what is going on. Crime IS increasing, regardless of lies told to the public. They talk the 'Our people matter' mantra, but most of the Assistant Commissioner level and above don't even bother to attend these functions.
