Pros

Great projects, opportunity to collaborate with world renowned firms.

Cons

-no consideration of your previous experience or career goals in your placement, despite discussion in interview -it looks like they are looking to fill seats so they can bill clients higher rates for your previous experience (what I have heard from many of my coworkers) the thing that explains under-utilisation. - Little opportunity for growth, if you don’t come in at a higher level don’t come here expecting to work hard and be promoted. They don’t promote they always hire external talent. - you will be under-utilised and face stiff resistance to any process improvement suggestions -they do not pay employee professional dues, or encourage professional development, if you want to be a GBCA AP you are on your own. Annual Architectural registration fees are on you. -you may find yourself reporting to people with less than half the capabilities and experience you have. These people will be given credit for your contributions, just part of the politics of the place. If you are looking to move backwards in your career or be a cad monkey this is the place to go. This was a waste of my time I wish they had been honest from the get go so I would not have taken this job. I would not recommend this organisation, save yourself the time and energy.

Auckland Office: Strictly 8:30-5:30PM (minimum), no flexibility, including if you have children No overtime payment discussed. If extra hours are worked in the week, they do not add up to hours required to work in week, no time in lieu. Suppliers and supplier food offers are restricted. No personal music and earphones allowed in the office. Working from home is only on a Wednesday, and that is looked down on. No bananas are allowed to be eaten in the office. No food is allowed to be eaten at a desk. Lunch time is strictly 1-2PM sharp. If you do not follow the above, you are pulled aside for a meeting.
