It’s a retirement village for ex Japanese company sales people. Most software engineers here can’t code, it’s pretty dismal. The code here has smells like god classes and functions and poor usage of architecture and data structures to implement things- and “architects” say “let’s keep to how it is done”. And management being sales have no idea how to lead delivery- it’s all led by sales and overpromising. Hell even the sales has no strategy apart from showmanship and overselling. Extremely political- outcomes don’t matter, feelings and vibes do. A lot of work is just busywork to show you’re involved - true to the Japanese DNA of the management And man, when you hear a bunch of uncles talking about their NS days in office…. It’s a joke.
