Pros

Role allowed me to build solution with a lot of autonomy Good compensation and workload Mostly good workplace culture and supportive team

Cons

People I worked with weren't technical so couldn't provide much guidance there, had to learn on my own Started off using very outdated technology, moved to a cloud solution but was still basic implementation without a lot of modern tech stack because it was only me building it Difficult to get business support/funding for project, lots of bureaucracy Some internal politics and frequent restructuring, but I was largely shielded from it

Pros

Good pay, big department and many people to talk to. Good conditions. Overall mostly quite professional.

Cons

IT system slow and very very unreliable. I spent hours of unproductive time just trying to access emails and online training. I also spent a substantial amount of time submitting requests trying to get the IT system fixed, usually to no avail. The IT system was a constant source of frustration, and site-wide it probably totalled millions of dollars in lost productivity.

Pros

Company resputation and product. Average payscale/benefits compared to local peer pharmaceutical companies

Cons

1.Short of hands and resources at bottom execution level. Limited number of scientists work in the lab all the time to feed the whole report line (-senior scientist -manager- senior manager-Associate director-director-senior director, up to VP.....). Decisions are made with lots of uncertainty/back and forth change/delay. Unclear instructions are given to the execution level, causing stress and anxiety. 2. Work life balance cannot be guaranteed. 3. Impossible to get any promotion/career advancement. Top performers are over used but not recognized with pay increase/benefits. 4.Favouritism and politics is not rare
