Pros
The campus at Banyo is beautifully maintained. The car parking is free which is a bonus for a university. Superannuation is very good at 17%.
Cons
No support given. Had no training or a professional review and I was a permanent staff member. Manager who was an very senior academic did not have an open door policy and frequently cancelled meetings. Was told off several times and shouted at, to the point I was afraid of my manager. Flexible hours are promoted but only given to select staff who are favoured. I witnessed frequent bullying by my manager to other staff too. Found out bullying had been going on for a while which is why the previous person in my role left, so did not go to HR as nothing would be resolved and life would be more difficult. Left after a year just so it would look not so bad on my CV. Many academic and professional staff left due to bullying by the same Manager and her Manager. It was the worse point of my career and very disappointing as I always wanted to work there.
