Pros

Some very exciting roles out there, if you can get them.

Cons

Army is "boiling the mud", which is to say that the good leaders and managers boil away early leaving more mud at the top. If you work for a good leader then they'll protect you from it as much as they can, but there are so many bad leaders that it's inevitable that you'll work with one at some point which is when most people leave.
