I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Moderna (Cambridge, MA) in Feb 2022
Interview
Recruiter screen, followed by hiring manager, followed by a panel of interviewers. The first couple of interviews were fairly quick, with the panel process focusing on various mindsets, and digging into past experiences that exemplify them. Felt like an unnecessarily long interview process, with the interviewers often not having the context of the role and expectations based on level.
They make you take the Moderna pre-interview survey which feels more like a personality test. Typical interview process meeting with recruiter, then hiring manager and then panel interview team. Moderna schedule changed a few times and hard to get a quick reply from scheduling coordinator. Long drawn out process and then the recruiter ghosts you. Energy from the interview process and that Moderna works you to the bone, sense of toxic environment, and frequent layoffs.
The interview consisted of multiple half hour interviews that were 1:1 with peers, partners, and stakeholders for the role. The meetings were both virtual and on-site. There were no discussions with potential direct reports.

Interview
Initial phone screen with HR…automated scheduling app had errors so I selected a time the HR person was not available, never showed up for the call, then rescheduled. First round with VP level hiring manager was rushed, felt unprofessional.
