I had worked for them decades ago, so I was familiar with the Greenville, South Carolina office. Things have gone downhill for sure. This (dour) woman I talked to (who was the department head, and she wasn't there when I worked there), didn't seem to have a clue (at least to me). She kept asking all these canned questions that had nothing to do with my skill set. Stuff like "What motivates you?" I tried not to laugh at that stuff. She kept delaying the interview too....which I thought was pretty unprofessional (considering she gave personal business as the reason for the delays). I admit I kind of got quiet very quickly because I couldn't think of much of an answer for some of the preposterous questions. In any case, she didn't ask a single question about some of my credentials....and I have some that are atypical for structural engineers in the southeast. If you don't know talent when you see it....good luck on building a team. No wonder at some of the things I have been hearing about that department in recent years.
