This company is a joke - declined as my laptop is not powerful enough
Was contacted by a recruitment agent and invited to the interview by email.
The entire process was conducted by a HR representative who mechanically read off theoretical (and overly complex) questions from a sheet of paper. When I sought clarification, he simply reread the questions verbatim, clearly demonstrating lack of understanding of the subject matter (that is ok for HR, but not ok technical interview).
Throughout the interview, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was interacting with an AI-generated video rather than a real person. The delivery was robotic, making the entire conversation feel more like an interrogation than a genuine interview. To make matters worse, the entire conversation was recorded without my consent, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and scrutinized.
There was no opportunity for me to ask any questions, and at the end, I was abruptly asked about the type of laptop I own, as the company enforces a BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE policy. I was taken aback—my laptop is quite old since previous employers always provided one. Apparently, this was a problem for them.
Following this bizarre interaction, I received a HackerRank link for a three-hour assignment, which I completed successfully with all tests passing. Despite this, I received a rejection email a few days later with no explanation or constructive feedback. It left me questioning why I had wasted five hours of my time on this process.
Would I go through this again? Absolutely not. In fact, I reached out to a friend whose relative works at the company to get some insight into what had just happened. The feedback I received only confirmed my relief that I did not proceed further. It seems this company lacks culture, offers minimal benefits, and shows little respect for prospective employees.
To anyone considering applying, I would advise you to reconsider. The interview process was impersonal and disorganized, and the company's practices left much to be desired.
