• Leading and managing staff to ensure the safety and security of prisoners, staff, and visitors. This includes maintenance of the integrity of both the external and internal security of the facility, appropriate levels of surveillance and interaction within the facility, and monitoring staff for compliance with security and safety procedures.
• Oversees and supports staff in all aspects of prison operations, including prisoner assessment, case management, program and service delivery, maintenance of professional boundaries, and contributions to prison security management and classification procedures.
• Deliver performance management and professional development guidance to custodial staff, taking responsibility for supervision and development of allocated team staff.

• Effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, internet, and intranet functions.
• Good knowledge of OH&S Policy and Procedures.
• Sound understanding of current Policy and Procedures and statutory requirements.

• Completion of Prison Pre-Service Training.
